Chumba was previously attached to KCB
Malkia Strikers opposite attacker Sharon Chepchumba has completed her move to Greece side Aris Thessaloniki.
The hard-hitting attacker seals the move barely days after featuring for the national team in the final group B match of the ongoing World Championships in Netherlands against Puerto Rico.
Chepchumba, was heavily linked with a over to the club three months ago but given her engagement with the national team that camped for two months in Brazil to prepare for the global showpiece, her transfer and unveiling delayed.
Her move also, comes hardly a day after Malkia assistant coach Paul Bitok tipped some of the players who represented the country in the World Championships to land plum deals abroad thanks to their individual brilliance that came in play in Netherlands.
However, the player who was previously attached to KCB, through her official social media accounts confirmed that she had formally joined the paid-up ranks after completing the transfer.
Before Thessaloniki ignited interest in the Kenyan star, a unnamed club in the Korean V league had unsuccessfully tried to acquire her services following the impressive performance she displayed in the African Club Championships held in Tunisia, back in May.
Chepchumba who broke the national team in 2018 after completing her High School studies is on record admitting to have turned down deals from Rwanda, Morocco and Egypt as she had her sights trained on playing in Europe.
She joined Kenya Prisons in 2018 but would ditch the wardresses for Kenya Pipeline the following year.
Chepchumba later moved to KCB in 2020 and would inspire the club to reclaim the African title in May this year with her individual performance earning her the Most Valuable Player of the tournament award.
